Stand-Alone Books… Sort of

I intended In God’s Time and Keep Her to be stand-alone books. Really, I did. Alas, the “best laid plans of mice and…” well… writers, or is it “When man plans, God laughs”? Regardless, by the time I finished both novels, I had ideas for more stories based on the main characters, and even a secondary character or two… or three. Still more to come than are listed below.

A Contemporary Christian Romance short story
Prequel to the novel, In God’s Time.

Tammy is second-guessing her decision to accept a blind date set up by her older brother, Greg. She knows nothing about the guy except his first name. Greg’s refusal to supply anything more makes her wonder – should she even be there?

As a side note, this story was a result of a writing challenge made by a mentor of mine. As soon as he provided the parameters of the challenge, this story popped into my mind.

This short-short is available for FREE here. If you prefer an actual ebook, it’s .99 from various online booksellers.

All Things Come In God’s Time, Including Love

Tara Whitman has a big problem. She’s in love with her best friend, and it’s getting harder to hide it from him. She fears the truth will destroy a friendship she holds dear, even as she battles jealousy toward the string of leggy blonds that parade through Jack’s life.

Jack Carlton spends his free time at one social event or another with the latest woman he dates to protect a huge secret he’s keeping from Tara – he’s in love with her, has been for years. Haunted by the memory of a kiss shared in their teens, he doesn’t want to endanger their friendship. Yet the thought of her kissing someone else drives him to distraction if he lets himself dwell on it.

A marriage in trouble
A life at risk

Heavily discouraged, Tara is ready to give up on her marriage, especially after receiving evidence that suggests her husband is having an affair. But the kids….

Then her world is turned further upside down when she’s injured but can’t remember how. Nightmares suggest danger lies at the root of it. Will the memories surface before nightmares become a lethal reality.

Buried in work by an unreasonable boss, Jack struggles to juggle it all and believes he’s managing. Maybe not perfectly, but he’s holding it together. At least, he thinks so.

Until life slaps him in the face with harsh reality – he’s on the verge of losing his family. Can he save his marriage and put his family back together, or is evil about to rip that possibility from his grasp?

Contemporary Christian Romantic-Suspense

A haunting past. Present danger. Will there be a future?

Newspaper reporter Dana Chandler’s life is full of “big brothers” without a romantic notion in the bunch. She’s watched Alan Richards from across the courtroom for years, admiring him first as a prosecutor for three years then as a judge for the past year. In fact, she spends more time at the courthouse than her office. He’s compassionate but thorough, fair but strict. Feared by criminals, he seeks justice for victims of violent crime, a fact she appreciates for her own reasons.

When an old friend is accused of murder, Dana believes he’s been set up. She won’t allow that to be done to an innocent man, especially the one who saved her life years ago, but the case reminds her of how much she hates puzzles. Then help comes from unexpected quarters, including the judge she’s long admired. That’s all she needs – another “big brother.”

Superior Court judge Alan Richards knows nothing about his unidentified observer. Not even her name. She’s been his constant, at least in the courtroom, for four years, but he still doesn’t know anything about her. Finally, God opens the door for them to meet.

As the danger for Dana grows, Alan devises an unconventional plan….
